Hello everyone, hope you had a good week. So one of my goals this year was to start reading more & I decided to kick that off by heading to our public library and checking out a book that I have had been dying to read. I didn’t really want to spend the money on it since I’m a gal who will usually only read a book once, unless its a design book, however this one did turn out to be an awesome read so I may end up buying it anyway, we’ll see. It’s The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines!
I just love them can’t get get enough of Chips shenanigans & Jos classic style. So I first fell in love with them about a year & a half ago when I was just getting interested in home design, DIY & farmhouse style. I had heard good things about it & saw that season 1 & 2 were on netflix so I watched the first few episodes & adored how every home turned out at the end. So I ended up binge watching, then decided I’d love to do some farmhouse style in our home someday.
So I jumped right in & started reading it right away, it only took a few days to get through it. Since starting to watch a while back & anxiously awaiting every new episode each week I really became intrigued by their story & how they got to this point in their lives. Needless to say it was exciting to learn about their book coming out & to find out how they managed/manage it all. Balancing multiple business’s, the highs & the lows, 4 kids, and a pretty successful & healthy marriage……. can we just say #Relationship Goals!!! They are so sweet & funny and seemingly balance each other out really well. As your reading this book it’s awesome to see the connection they have & how they actually feed off each other, encourage each other & are really at their best when together.
This book gives a great little history of both them recalling all the way back to their childhoods, how they met, jumped right in to their businesses, moved from place to place & when things finally started to take off. All the while keeping their faith & holding steady. Its so crazy how apparent it is through it all that god was working and preparing them for their huge success now. Starting from the very beginning, things from their childhoods, how they met, their early years of marriage, every set back and some pretty scary financial ordeals. God was there, coming through and providing in some big & risky ways. There’s no doubt that this was his plan for them all along!
All in all a sweet and uplifting read and I highly recommend! Check out your local library for a copy and let me know what you thought!! Also any other good books I should check out!
